Arts Guild New Jersey provides a wide range of regular programming throughout the year. In addition we have presented, produced or hosted SPECIAL EVENTS in each season of activities. The Special Events include Arts or Cultural seminars, lectures or presentations that are open to the public, art lovers and artists of all kinds. They provide both educational and cultural/artistic content and can range from independent films to art history talks to other services that can help artists in their careers or be informative to the general public. Past events have included: ‘Bedside Harp’, a program that showed the use of harp music in hospitals as a means to ease the healing of patients, the Indie Film Series, Use of Internet as a Tool For Artists and many others.It is a part of our mission to promote the value of the Arts to the general public and these events are a part of that guiding principle.
“COMES LOVE” A Tribute to Billie Holiday

Billie Holiday, best known for her soulful and unique singing voice, is a superstar in American jazz. Recording with the greats of the period – Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, and

Artie Shaw, to name a few – “Lady Day” (Holiday) recorded over 100 songs from the 1930’s -50’s until her untimely death at the age of 44. Holiday’s masterpieces are as well known today as they were decades ago, and her “poignant voice is still considered to be one of the greatest jazz voices of all time.” (billyholiday.com)

Just a few of the favorites that will be performed at this concert are: “Lover Man”, “God Bless Child”, “Comes Love”, “Speak Low”, “Just One of Those Things”, “Strange Fruit”, “Good Morning Heartache”, “One for My Baby”, “Fine and Mellow”, “You Go to My Head”, “Mean to Me”, “A Fine Romance”, and “Moaning Low”.
