The Arts Guild of Rahway provides a wide range of regular programming throughout the year. In addition we have presented, produced or hosted SPECIAL EVENTS in each season of activities. The Special Events are Arts or Cultural seminars, lectures or presentations that are open to the public, art lovers and artists of all kinds. They provide both educational and cultural/artistic content and can range from independent films to art history talks to other services that can help artists in their careers or be informative to the general public. Past events have included: ‘Bedside Harp’, a program that showed the use of harp music in hospitals as a means to ease the healing of patients, the Indie Film Series, Use of Internet as a Tool For Artists and many others.
It is a part of our mission to promote the value of the Arts to the general public and these events are a part of that guiding principle…….

Rahway has been Building an ARTS COMMUNITY for the past twenty years, It is currently home to the Union County Arts Center, a beautifully renovated Center For The Performing Arts that presents nationally known performers each season. Currently completing renovations, the UCAC will reopen soon with a great line-up of music, dance, comedy, theater and other top-notch acts. The Arts Guild of Rahway has been in existence since 1997 and presents a yearly series of art exhibits, concerts and art classes.
Soon to join us is another facility on Hamilton Street, between the Arts Guild and the UCAC. This new complex will house the Nai Ni Chen Dance Company where they will rehearse and present intimate performances of traditional Chinese Dance and Modern Dance. A new professional Theater company will also be based there to present a yearly season of plays and offer acting classes and other training for actors.
In addition is Edge Art, located on Irving Street near the UCAC theater. Edge is an art gallery with a 3000 piece museum-quality art collection which is available for sale as well as viewing. Edge Art also offers a wide selection of Art Books, exhibit catalogs and monographs about art and artists. On nearby cherry Street are ETHNICITY---a gallery that celebrates African American Art and a new gallery presenting a colorful collection of Haitian Art.
The Rahway Arts district is also home to the Union County Dance Theater and the Rahway Dance Theater, both of which provide dance instruction in a variety of styles.
BEGINNING ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4, The city Of Rahway Will Host a monthly Celebration of the Arts For visitors from the Surrounding region. Each FIRST THURSDAY will offer activities at ALL of Rahway’s art locations and other events with music and/or performances. Come and visit---ENJOY THE ART, FINE DINING AND MONTHLY ENTERTAINMENT IN DOWNTOWN RAHWAY!!!!
